Digital X-rays Cromwell, CT

Overview

Digital x-rays, also known as digital radiographs, are administered during a dental examination to give our dentists a more comprehensive view of your teeth, gums, and jawbone. These detailed scans let our experienced team observe concerns that are not visible with the naked eye, and they allow us to learn more about the health of the inside of your oral structures. There are a number of dental problems that can be seen with the help of digital x-rays, such as tooth decay, cavities, cysts, abscesses, bone loss, and impacted teeth. When these problems are detected early, they can be treated more efficiently and provide us with more options at our disposal. During your dental exam at Preferred Dental of Cromwell, digital x-rays will help our team more accurately diagnose and treat a range of oral health issues. Contact our Cromwell, CT practice today to schedule your dental examination with digital x-rays.

Best Candidates

Technologically advanced digital x-rays are an important part of most routine dental examinations. At our Cromwell, CT office, these images can be taken during a yearly dental examination or if you come into our office experiencing issues, like bleeding, swelling, or pain. Although digital x-rays use less radiation than traditional x-rays, Preferred Dental of Cromwell takes special care to minimize the amount of exposure that is delivered to every patient. While digital x-rays are typically safe for any patient, women who are pregnant or breastfeeding should let our office know before their exam so extra precautions can be taken.

What to Expect

Typically done at the beginning of a yearly dental exam, digital x-rays take about 5 – 10 minutes to complete. Most patients will have a series of x-rays taken that encompass all areas of the mouth. After these images are taken, they will be uploaded onto our desktop device and will be viewable during your appointment. This is so our dentists can evaluate your scans and point out any potential issues. From there, we will assess if there are any abnormalities and discuss what treatments may be needed. If you require treatment for tooth decay, periodontal disease, or another commonly occurring oral problem, we will work with you to develop a personalized treatment plan that meets your needs and restores your dental wellness.

Just got my cleaning done, and everything from the customer service to the dental work was perfect as always. The staff are always friendly and helpful every time I have come, and unlike other dentists, they never cause me any pain while I'm getting my teeth worked on. My hygienist was absolutely lovely and very friendly. Would definitely recommend coming here if you need a new dentist!

My family has been coming here for years for cleanings and we all agree it’s always great. the staff are kind, the place is clean, and they do a great job.

When I visited this office, I was greeted by the front desk, as is customary in most offices. The difference here is that they seemed happy to be at work. The dental assistant (I didn't get her name) was very sweet and polite. The dentist I saw, Dr. Schulman, was a super nice guy with great chairside manner. He was very professional and friendly. While I was in his chair, he did not seem rushed to finish the work, and I did not feel like just another number. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking to get any work done. Everyone from the front desk to the dental hygienist, Tina, to Dr. Schulman are all great people. 10/10.
